Writing for Working Professionals
What you'll be able to do. Send shorter emails, write better proposals, and produce documents people actually finish.
Six weeks of practical writing instruction for people who write at work all day but were never taught how. We focus on the formats that drive real work — memos, proposals, decision docs, status updates — not on essay craft.
You will leave able to
- Open a document with the sentence that earns the reader's next 60 seconds.
- Cut a 1,200-word memo down to its load-bearing 400.
- Write a decision doc that drives a decision in one meeting, not three.
- Give and receive useful written feedback on your colleagues' drafts.
Curriculum
- Week 1: The reader's job, not the writer's
- Week 2: Structure — BLUF, inverted pyramid, decision-first
- Week 3: Cutting
- Week 4: The decision document
- Week 5: Email & status updates that don't waste anyone's time
- Week 6: Cohort workshop on real artefacts
Format
6 weeks · Hybrid · Mon, 7–9pm SGT + one Saturday workshop · Intermediate
